22 November – Voicetuning – Tomáš FINGERLAND and Petra STRÁ (CZ)

This weekend, 22nd November, we have prepared a children’s workshop, VOICETUNING, this time led by Tomáš Fingerland and Petra Strá who together founded the music school called - La škola. The morning block will be for young children; the afternoon for older children. You can read more HERE. VOICETUNING - WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN FROM 5 TO 11 Saturday 22 November Run by Tomáš Fingerland and Petra Strá alias “La škola” This year we have prepared another children’s workshop, this time run by Tomáš Fingerland and Petra Strá alias “La škola”. The morning block will be for young children; the afternoon for older children. The maximum number of children in the group is 12. BLOCK FOR CHILDREN 5-8 YEARS OLD, 9.30-12.30 Every voice is tuned to its particular tone. First we need to find the tone. Then we put the tones together and let them ring out. It could almost be called singing. Singing can be more complex though, we can move from the original tone to other tones. There are so many! Changing them gives us a song. It is based on singing; but bring some instruments too! BLOCK FOR CHILDREN 7-11 YEARS, 14.30-17.30 Improvising for song-writing. We’re a band that sings and plays and writes its own songs. We make do with the bare minimum, yet still encompass all the musical genres. Our musical fragments should drop into every place (musical style). We play what we want. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? Teaching at La škola is based on perfectly prepared improvisation. There are big demands on the tutors. The teachers are great musicians who have the ability to convey emotion, images and stories. Their teaching methods are inspired by Montessori, Comenius, Steiner, Orff, Stolyarsky, theatre, film, circus, mime, poetry. Then there are the children. This unique teaching method is also based on the kids, depending on which children are in the group. And it is important to be prepared for each one. To find and express each kid’s note, to take a firm grasp of it, tune it and play it. Every class has its own distinctive chord. The children start to realise the sound that is hidden within, they stop being scared to produce it, leading to a small miracle that will move you. The workshop is intended for unaccompanied children, but parents will be able to watch the last half hour of the workshop, if they want to. The price is CZK 220/child.
