One of the most distinctive Czech female musicians and composers, singing pianist Beata Hlavenková. Exclusively for Hlasohled, she will conduct a workshop aimed at singers who not only want to be performers but also have a need to compose and create.
You can sign up either just for the morning seminar or for the whole day (participation in the afternoon practical is conditional upon completing the morning block). There is no limit for the morning session, the afternoon session is restricted to a maximum of 10 participants.
10.00–12.30
Introductory theoretical seminar. Based on jointly listening to selected songs and subsequent analysis, we will look at how the melody can be accompanied and, in contrast, how to invent a melody for the chords, how to improvise. Naturally, we will cover the basics of music theory, which is an important part of the compositional process.
14.00–18.00
For the afternoon session you are invited to express your ideas, motives. Together, we’ll look at where we can take them. It will also be helpful if you could keep in mind or write down your favourite song and describe what you like about it and why. The capacity for the afternoon session is limited to 10 participants.
Beata Hlavenková, a singing pianist, songwriter, arranger and producer. She is one of the most distinctive musicians with an unmistakable authorial style. Straddling genres, she has a deep awareness of jazz, modern classical music, pop and song-writing.
