An improvisation game/activity I have led along my travels is an intermedia, holistic activity which I have called “I Have Never Dared to Do This Before” or “Intermedia Improvisation: From the Thought to its Holistic Expression” with musicians and also with non-musicians or non-artists involving writing, listening, movement, solo improvisation, duo, and group improvisation. What is great about this activity is that people with no former musical or dance training can participate, and their contribution is oftentimes the most interesting. Because the whole point of the activity is to do at least one thing he/she has never done before, everyone is on an equal playing field.
Please bring a pen and some paper, and please wear comfortable clothing and shoes (we might take our shoes off, if everyone is comfortable with that). Those who play instruments, please bring them - those who don't, just bring yourselves and the things just mentioned. Thank you!
