KNOWING HOW TO LISTEN YOUR VOICE!
led by Iva Bittová (CZ)
Sunday 8th December
The singer, violinist and composer Iva Bittová is an unmistakeable figure on the domestic and world music scene. She is currently living in the USA, and, despite playing regular concerts in the CR, she only leads workshops abroad. So we are very pleased that she has accepted Hlasohled’s invitation. For 30 musicians and others who enjoy music it represents an opportunity to spend a day in joint musical work and creation..
During Iva Bittová’s workshop she will offer participants insight into her unique approach to improvisation and composition. Special emphasis is placed on the effect naturalistic and natural sounds have on us and our musical thinking, which Bittová herself uses to create the superstructure over her classical technique. She says about her workshops: “The most important thing is an open mind and a lot of energy. I try to get participants to express their deepest emotions so their soul imprints itself into the sound and so that a flow of creativity is awakened in the workshop”.
As the lecturer says, the particiapnts are expected to have “some contact with the world of music” - i.e. we assume that they’ll be used to express themselves through music or engaged in it somehow. It is also expected that they’ll join in as much as possible. The number of people in the workshop is limited to 30 participants.
