RAGUE VOCAL SUMMIT
with VINX (USA)

Music is just another language in need of a story.
Internationally acclaimed vocalist/producer/songwriter Vinx De'Jon Parrette will lead a vocal workshop for select participants in Prague, Czech Republic. Based on the curriculum he uses as a professor at the world famous Berklee College of Music, participants will expand their vocal abilities through a series of exercises designed by VINX. In addition, each participant will have the opportunity to interact with VINX and receive focused advice to help develop their own unique craft.
This vocal summit will focus on the following:
1. Finding your authentic voice (truth, honesty, slave to the heart, common song)
2. The nuances of scatting (instruments, dialogues, influences, colors)
3. Tone shifting vs. licks (rhythmic placement, vibrato, air)
4. Singing as easy as conversation (fluency in the language)
5. Embracing your true spice (acccepting your own genius)
6. Creating your own process (back-story and detail)
7. Incorporating vocal technology (explore Vinx's unique use of technology)
The vocal summit is intended to inspire singers of all levels. The voice is the most sensitive and emotionally connected of all musical instruments. Join me as we explore and examine the possibilities in your own ability!
International recording artist and Berklee College of Music educator, Vinx is as close as you'll find to a 21st century Renaissance Man. Known to music fans as a percussionist and vocalist, his music is classified by some as jazz, by some as world music and by others as soul. With a style all his own, he has been compared to the likes of Nat “King” Cole and Harry Belafonte as well as Sam Cooke, Bobbie McFerrin and even Fred Flintstone. Most often, Vinx is remembered from his opening act on Sting’s Soul Cages Tour but he has also worked with numerous other artists as varied as Stevie Wonder, Cassandra Wilson, Darius Rucker, Vance Gilbert, Taj Mahal and the Spin Doctors to name a few. The seminar will take place on Sunday, November 17th from 10 am to 5:30 pm in the American center, Tržiště 13, Prague 1 ( station Malostranské náměstí, tram 12 or 22)
