Sanne Storm last lectured in Prague at the invitation of Hlasohled in October 2012. Her workshop was so great that we decided to offer her more space in the form of this six-day workshop. We believe that it will be just as inspirational and beneficial.

The workshop will take place in the picturesque environment of Slavonice, where everything is within 7 mins walking distance.
lavonice is a small, old-world town, which is one of the few in theCzech Republic that has retained its Renaissance form. It has pleasant pubs and cafes and is surrounded by beautiful and pristine countryside. You can go for a virtual walk around Slavonice HERE

WORKING WITH VOICE

This is a voice course running over six days. The course "Free your Voice ... sing your Self alive" is offering you the opportunity to immerse in the work with body and voice. The intension of the course is to offer a space where you can explore and awake the primary joy of playing with the sound of your voice and movements.

The course integrates work with basic body movements and vocal exercises, as well as more playful and exploratory improvisational exercises with body, voice and words. In more quiet introspective exercises the focus will be on gentle meditative exercises, and the contact with internal images and experiences in order to get in touch with the spring of creativity. Dreams will be a natural part of this. During the week your work will develop into a small bricolage of lyrics, sounds and movements (dance); a personal project titled "The Dance of the Voice - The Songs of the Self".

To me creator processes is forms of vitality, the life and healing generator within ourselves, and the creativity cannot be separated from the processes of life and is by no means the only path to growth. By playing and exploring the body and movement, expression and vocal variety in sound - beautiful as well as ugly, humorous, sincere and sensual sounds - create a space to expand both our artistic and human expression, and create a space to be ourselves in touch with our deepest qualities, which opens the path to vitality, joy and richness - in our lives, in our relationships with others and in our creative work.

The personal project takes its beginning through rhythm, dance and vocal improvisations. The work is about freeing the voice and the movement and finding the inspiration for expression in dreams, meditation, inner images and bodily sensations. We are working to develop a free and vital authentic expression of body, movement, and voice while spontaneous create songs and dances.

The course addresses both singers, actors, teachers, storytellers, therapists, mediators and others who want to explore their voice as a way to gain life force and a full and authentic vocal expression. The most important prerequisite for this course is: Your inner voice is calling!

You must be willing to work individually, in pairs and groups. Bring comfortable clothes, notebook, paper and colours.

The workshop with Sanne Storm will be conducted in English and translated into Czech.
