Friday 10 - Sunday 12 August, the monastery in Bechyně

A weekend in the company of the nomads, comedians and poets of the voice and body, Sylvia Krobové and Jiří Bilbo Reidinger.

As the lecturers put it:, "The voice, which, through an inner understanding of its regularity, can heal, enriches and can rouse our inner world through its natural resonance, together with movement, which is, of course, naturally connected with the human voice and our entire physical body, and when in absolute unity harmonises the entire person - individuality, personality. During the improvisations, using the technical developments of the voice and physical movement that we have gathered, we will create stories or the story of everyone who will share with us the endless possibilities that are the contrasts of the imagination and the harmony that is in us, sometimes even with the aid of musical instruments (e.g. kalimba, sansula, big drum, ...), which will promote a harmonious co-experience of the ideas that well up. Together we will create the skeleton of a small story, which we will act out in the end.€

The workshop is structured so that it is suitable for all levels, including beginners. No previous experience is necessary.

Sylvie Krobová will guide you through the voice, Jiří Bilbo Reidinger through movement.

The workshop will be held in the picturesque rooms of Bechyně Monastery starting on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and carrying on from Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If the weather is good, part of the workshop will take place outside in the monastery gardens. For those interested there will be a screening of a wonderful documentary film about itinerant Roma musicians on Saturday night.

The price is CZK 1580 / 1450 for students, pensioners and persons on parental leave. It is possible to sleep over in the local art school's dormitory (about 900 m from the monastery) on a bed with your own sleeping bag (80 CZK/night) or in a sleeping bag on the ground in the monastery's refectory (50 CZK). Showers are available. Bechyně itself has a diverse range of other accommodation opportunities at reasonable prices.
