Marta TOPFEROVÁ (ČR)

Marta Topferova is one of the most remarkable singers and songwriters of her generation. Gifted with a deep, resonant voice, her dynamic, multi-lingual performances are complimented by her accompaniment on acoustic guitar, four-string cuatro and hand percussion such as maracas and clave. Marta has had a passion for Latin American music since her youth, and the London Times deservedly declared her "one of the most graceful interpreters of Latin American folk music". To date, Marta has released four luminous Spanish-language albums of mostly original material, where she not only shines as a stunning singer, but a prolific composer. Featuring an impressive cast of New York musicians, those albums are: "Sueño Verde" 2003, "La Marea" 2005, "Flor Nocturna" 2006 and "Trova" 2009. In addition, Marta has released two albums in Czech - "Homage to Homeland" 2002, "Milokraj" 2013, and one in English "The Other Shore" 2011.

Marta has appeared on some of the most prominent stages and festivals around the world, gaining well-deserved recognition for her exceptional artistry. The highlights of Marta’s performing career include concerts at The Blue Note, The World Music Festival in Chicago, Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Vienna Jazz Festival, The New Morning in Paris, Jazz Festival Royale in Thailand, and many other venues in Argentina, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Hungary, Germany and the Czech Republic.
