Natalka Polovynka is a singer, actress and teacher as well as an author of musical and music-related theater projects. She devotes herself to old Ukrainian spiritual music, folk songs, interpretation of balads as well as contemporary compositions but also to improvised music.
She graduated from the state conservatory in Lvov, Ukraine. Since 1988, she became a leading actress in the major theater company Les Kurbas Theatre. She studied at the Jerzy Grotowski center in Wroclaw, Poland, where she continues to give workshops. In 2003, she became the artistic leader of the "Maisternia pisni" ensemble (see http://www.maisternia.com.ua/). She has won a number of international music and theater awards.
