Adam KRÁTKÝ (CZ)

Just before graduating, Adam Krátký dropped out of university, where he was studying philosophy, and went over to the arts, took a degree in Theatre in Non-traditional Spaces, and is now studying acting at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU).

Adam Krátký is the author and co-author of several plays and performances, mostly in unusual places (Proměna krajiny – The Metamorphosis of Landscape, Svátek světla – The Festival of Light, Chodidlárium – The Barefoot Labyrinth), in addition to more traditional theatre pieces for children as well as adults, such as MOMO, Ready or Not, Owl!, The Bohemian Sea, and a number of others.

Adam lives in Roztoky, where together with Dora Tichá he works under the cultural association Roztoč, teaching drama classes and leading Vyper, an art-performative group. He occasionally leads site specific workshops for adults and secondary school students.

He has been on many study visits and taken part in various workshops in the Czech Republic and around the world, among others the Ziráno Puppet Theatre (Hungary), the Body Weather workshop with dancer Frank van de Ven, and a series of movement workshops with Emmanuelle Pépin (France). He has been profoundly influenced by Tomáš Žižka, Miloš Šejn, Howard Lotker, and Jana Pilátová.
